    Strengths: Clearer picture than the Kuro to me. When side by side, the Kuro looks like it has tinted glass making the blacks blacker but also making the whites greyer. The noise reduction is better.

    Weaknesses: I'd like a 60" Kuro but it's twice the price. Panasonic didn't release the 58" yet. Blacks aren't black enough.

    Overall Evaluation: This is a great TV! Check cnet for a in depth review. And check it out in the store. The blacks could be better. I really notice it when watching a movie that has the black bars on the top and bottom of the screen. On the Pioneer 6020 Kuro, those bars are totally black. But then again the price is $4000 for that compared to $2000 for this tv. I like the all glass screen with metal edge. It kind of reminds me of Mcintosh brand audio products.The THX video certification is what closed the deal for me. The colors are acurate as well as the picture - arguably better than the Pioneer Kuros so that means it's arguably the best picture in this size at this time (July 2008).Panasonic's warranty is valid regardless of whether you get it from an authorized dealer or not so keep that in mind so that price is the main object - Pioneer on the other hand does not honor its warranty unless the tv is purchased from an authorized dealer. I trust Panasonic's quality more than Pioneer. The noise reduction on the set is much better than the 42pz600u which this set is replacing. The size and contrast ratio were the main reasons for the upgrade.Overall I'm very happy with the set, but I would like the extra 10 inches of Pioneer to give the viewing experience the larger than life feeling. So I kept the box just in case I upgrade soon. But $2000 is alot of money to be spent on other things or saved so it can work for me. Best of luck in your tv shopping decision.

    Strengths: Easy setup, outstanding colors/blacks and picture, great remote, excellent and helpful Concierge service by telephone, base rotation, excellent manual, beautiful design.

    Weaknesses: THX mode over hyped and not impressive!! Expensive, but price can be brought down by shopping online.

    Overall Evaluation: Overall, I love my new Panasonic plasma TV! As an older person, I found the setup easy and the manual very easy to understand and read. The Panasonic Concierge service by telephone is excellent and was very helpful for my questions. The remote control is easy to use and has large letters for ease of use. The TV has stunning colors and blacks which make viewing great. There are many inputs including 4 HDMI slots. Although the THX is the big hype on CNET, I found it dull and so far not useful. I used the Vivid picture setting and am quite happy with color and brightness. So far no complaints after 6 days of use.

    Strengths: Great Picture - Both HD & SD TV picture is excellent. Very easy setup used the set's "THX" auto setting. Sound is good for a TV.

    Weaknesses: Not much so far switching between different video inputs could be easier.

    Overall Evaluation: I have only had the set for 1 day but I can tell you it is a Amazing TV. I have a TiVo HD unit attached to one HDMI input that records from OTA (over the air) digital, network OTA HD looks amazing. Also have a SD Satellite receiver connected to a Series 2 TiVo running through my AV receiver, connected via a SD component input and the SD content also looks great, better than it did on my old 27" tube TV. Will post back in a few days if anything different, so far 100% recommended TV. ........................................................OK, I have now been using the TV for 7 days and thought I would add a little more. I sit about 12 ft from this TV which seems to be a good distance; HD TV looks excellent and SD TV look very good at this distance, if you get closer HD TV looks even sharper, but SD TV quality goes down - At the 12 ft distance if you zoom a letter boxed SD Show my eyes can notice a quality reduction. My understand is the above is true for all HD TVs what will very is the distance you can notice the picture quality changes which varies with the size and quality of the TV and how good your eyes are. For my eyes 12 foot is the sweet spot for mixed HD and SD viewing. Still 100% recommend this TV - I have not seen a better picture.

    Strengths: The picture clarity, color, and depth of this TV are impeccable. The TV itself looks great hanging on my wall. With 4 HDMi inputs there's plenty of room for all your components.

    Weaknesses: None!

    Overall Evaluation: If you're looking for a new plasma TV, it doesn't get any better than this. It may be more expensive than other TVs out there, but I'm a true believer that you get what you pay for and this TV is no exception. The picture is amazing, especially when using HDMi inputs. People say Plasma TVs have a lot of glare. I have mine mounted in the living room with three south facing windows and the anti-reflective coating does a great job because I haven't had one issue with glare. I highly recommend this TV to anyone shopping for a new plasma, you won't be disappointed.*10/10/08 Update*I FINALLY upgraded to HD and this TV continues to impress. Sports action is crystal clear. If you're comparing Plasma to LCD, this TV looks great when watching high speed action without the worry of pixelation you would typically see on a LCD. This TV was truly worth the investment.
