Strengths: Wifi and Windows Mobile 6.0 platform works very easily with Windows Vista where as Palm's will not. Will accept up to a 8Gb SDHC card I only have 4GB for now and still have 2gb excess unused.

Weaknesses: Not much out there for OEM accessories.

Overall Evaluation: This is my third pda. first was a palm which now will not work on Vista, The second was an Ipaq 5455 that was an older workhorse of an unit and built like a tank and weighed in like a brick on my side all day. This 111 is so small I forget I am carrying it around until it is needed. The mobile apps are available for free everywheere on the web. Not much that i cant do with it except like make a powerpoint presetnation. Can create docs in word and excel on the go. Wifi is amazing and simple to use. I find myself using this more then my notebook I thought I would be taking everywhere with me. I have this stuffed with games and other programs to keep me busy while waiting for those late clients. The audio that comes from this unit rivals my expensive mp3 player. So now I have everything in one unit. I do not work for HP and am not paid for this but truely love this PDA and can not honestly say anything bad of it. Buy one before they are al gone is my advice. I searched model units until I was blue in the face and have never regretted it since. I can not wait to see where Pda's will be in another five years from now.

    Duration of ownership:

Strengths: Pocket size for portability, reasonable response, WIFI, relatively large RAM, SD card slot and relatively fast access, Fast charge, easily replaceable battery

Weaknesses: Small screen size, small battery capacity, no hard keypad

Overall Evaluation: I upgrade from a dead Tungsten E to this. The increase in RAM and SD card access speed is very helpful in getting the softwares that I want. WIFI is very useful for needed frequent online update of my data base. The screen is bright and clear but power drain is fast because of this. Navigation is resembling a pc with window using touch screen.

    Strengths: Wi-Fi enabled

Weaknesses: the quality of the screen

Overall Evaluation: With the wide spread of Wi-Fi technologies, PDA is more useful than before. Smart phone is another choice, while this PDA has larger screen than most other smartphones. With Wi-Fi, we can brower the web and download some books immediately. The wide screen provide a good performance in reading although the quality of the screen is not as good as i expected.

    Duration of ownership:

    Strengths: wide screen, classical design

    Weaknesses: battry

Overall Evaluation: This product follows HP classical design on PDAs, so I feel very familiar to this product. Most functions are useful and necessary. It is easy to install new functions. It's a light product. The only problem is the battery, which will run out very fast if I use it intensively.

Strengths: Great value for the price and great PDA!

    Weaknesses: None so far.

Overall Evaluation: I have used a couple PDAs so far. My last was HP IPAQ 2215, which I bought about 3 years ago. As my computer is upgraded to Vista, the OS did not allow synchronization with Window CE. Naturally, I begun seeking for the problem and Window Mobile was required.Anyhow, IPAQ 111 looked a great value for the price. Here I want to compare IPAQ 111 with IPAQ 2215 and talk about major changes.Speed: Faster. the process speed is something like 1.5 times faster and I can see some visible difference while using it.SD slot: Acceptable. While IPAQ 2215 has a CF and SD slot, IPAQ 111 only has SD. However, these days SD capacity become large enough and it is acceptable. However, I have to get a new SD.Appearance: I guess both PDA are pretty well designed. I like the IPAQ 111?s modern and sharp look.Bluetooth: Definitely a plus. I have a wireless headset and it pairs with integrated Bluetooth in IPAQ 111. This means I do not need to put the ?Dongle-a paring device? in to the earphone jack. Great! The sound quality is great when I choose ?high quality headphone.?Strength: I accidentally dropped IPAQ 111 on the cement floor and there is no problem. Made strong. ^^Battery type and length: IPAQ 2215 also had a switchable battery but IPAQ 111 battery life seems to be somewhat longer under a similar use.Wi-Fi: embedded in IPAQ 111 and works great!Overall, IPAQ 111 has been improved quite a lot and the price is quite acceptable. I feel that I got more value than the price.

    Duration of ownership:4 Days

Strengths: Nice bright screen, connects to wifi and bluetooth really fast. Can be used as a phone with skype. Great to watch movies and listen to music on. Surfs internet great and checks email great.

Weaknesses: Did not know I needed Outlook Professional to sync. I have Vista so it comes with Windows Mail and Windows Calendar which DOES NOT work with Windows Mobile Device Center.

Overall Evaluation: I would definitely recommend the Ipaq 111. Cheap little business device for those professionals on the go.I recommend the Jawbone bluetooth headset. This PDA picks up a lot of background noise so it's not easy to talk on. I also recommend the A-Data 16GB SDHC memory card for extra storage.Microsoft needs to make it where you can sync with Windows Mail and Windows Calendar!!! What the hell?

    Duration of ownership:2 Weeks

Strengths: Full-featured, Small and light packaging, Good price.

Weaknesses: Buttons do not have quality feel to them. No hardware screen lock button. Only QVGA screen.

Overall Evaluation: I bought this unit as a replacement for my Acer n311 which has a broken screen. I was drawn to the iPaq 111 on price and features, and this unit does not disappoint. Fast processer, lots of memory, full SD card slot, Wi-Fi/g and BT 2.0 EDR. The 111 has it all in spades. The lack of a hardware screen lock button is a drag because I carry the 111 in my pocket with no case (for fast access). The lack of a full VGA screen is also unfortunate since the only way to get it is to buy the gigantic 211 unit instead. For those wanting a fast and small straight WM PDA, this is for you.

Strengths: Fast processor, great PDA, built in bluetooth connects easily to my Verizon cell phone to use data features when WiFI is not availible.

Weaknesses: needs bigger battery for longer use out in the field.

Overall Evaluation: This is a great product for someone that is like me and does not want to pay the high prices for data on there cell phone, but it connects easily when needed and a wifi connection is not availible. I have been using this product since thanksgiving 2007 and have no compalints other than i wish i could find a larger battery for it when i am using it away from home.

    Duration of ownership:1 Weeks

Strengths: Long battery life, small, slim, great design, professional looking, not Palm OS.

Weaknesses: Hard to find OEM accessories.

Overall Evaluation: After using several PDAs since 1999, this has been my best value PDA that I would recommend to anyone who is looking for strictly PDA (no GPS, no phone, etc). The design was great and look very professional. Before buying this, I debated with myself for a long time if I should got rid of my faithful Palm Tungsten T3. After comparing with the strengths and weaknesses, I finally went for this IPAQ 111 Classic and it's all I ever hope for from a PDA in term of functionalities, and look. I never like Palm OS at the first place so this new MS Windows Mobile 6 is really a big leap for me. It's so easy to use and lots of software to support. It's not buggy as my old palm. The WIFI function is a plus as well especially with free WIFI now adays. What I love the most is the replaceable battery which is hard to find in the PDA. So far, I only charge once every two days with normal average use. It uses the mini usb cable to charge so it's easy to find wherever you go. This is a must-have PDA.

    Duration of ownership:

Strengths: Windows platform better than Palm OS. Great resoultion. Syncing is easier than Palm OS. Light weight. Built in Wi-Fi.

Weaknesses: None thus far, but is a bit light which gives it the appearane of not being rugged.

Overall Evaluation: This is my first PDA that uses Windows. I have had a few Palm's in the past and have run into problems with the support. Once they finally got my Palm TX replaced I decided that I never wanted to have to deal with their poor support again, so I put the TX on eBay and bought the Ipaq 111. I have been happy with the purchase. The unit has a good overall performance and the battery life is very good. I have a 2GB SD card installed and loaded about 450 MP3's on the card. I was able to use the Ipaq for about 10 hours of continuous playback before the battery was depleted to about 10%. I also read a number of positive reviews on this device that helped me decide on this item. Wireless performs very well. I like the fact that the radio is 802.11 b/g and not just b. It also allows for configuring the higher WPA2 level of security. Palm requires an additional software purchase for this functionality. The only thing that I would change is to increase the resolution. It would be nice if it had a higher resolution for viewing spreadsheets and such. Overall, a very good unit and I would highly recommend over the comparably priced Palm TX.
