    Duration of ownership:3 Months

Strengths: small footprint, quiet compared to the inkjet it replaced, print cost per page, uses virtually any paper with very good results.

Weaknesses: emits a hot metal odor, possibly due to the heat used to melt the toner to the paper (note: samsung advises to not worry about steam coming from the printer....)

Overall Evaluation: I have recommended this printer to several close friends and purchased it for my daughter

    Duration of ownership:10 Days

    Strengths: Low price, usb interface

Weaknesses: Poor printing quality on glossy stock and gloss labels. Poor support from manufacturer; sent two e-mails concerning problems and mfg. never replied.

Overall Evaluation: I purchased this printer to print graphics on glossy dvd labels. This printer does a lousey job. The labels are laser compatible but the printer doesn't measure-up. The labels come out w/ bubbles then the surface cracks on toner comes off.

    Duration of ownership:3 Months

    Strengths: Speed and Versatility

    Weaknesses: None!

Overall Evaluation: After using all types of printers including other laser, this is the Best! Small footprint, cartridges last forever, draft is almost as good as the highest settings on most other printers and in a pinch any paper will work.

    Updated:02-17-08

    Duration of ownership:13 Months

Strengths: Small size, fairly good text printing.

Weaknesses: Paper feed mechanism failed after 11 months of light use. Am waiting for repair. Testing suggests the springs do not release to lift the paper supply. For a while I could lightly touch the bottom edge of the paper and get it to feed but now the jam light comes on as soon as I turn the printer on. Also, proper photo paper would not feed at all so I can not print onto photo paper; just regular copier paper.

Overall Evaluation: Very disappointing printer but with my space constraint, I will have to buy the same one again and hope for better functionality.

    Duration of ownership:2 Months

Strengths: Super quality output. Very qyuit. Very small. Low cost. Excellent software.

Weaknesses: Small ink capacity and still no refil kit available

Overall Evaluation: This printer has perfect printing quality, both black and color. the guy which are complaining about the quailty are some morons which can t adjust the software, or are using nonsuitable papers. I have used plain papers but with suitable tuning the parameters in the software, perfect photo was the out come. Very good at all. The only issue I thing is the high charging cost, eslecially form the original shiped tuners. I hope the availability of refile kits in the new future. Overall: Good job Samsung!

    Duration of ownership:1 Years

    Strengths: Small size, good price

Weaknesses: Life of printer is very short

Overall Evaluation: I loved this printer for about 10 months, then it started doing I've seen other reviewers complain about - lousy print quality. No satisfaction from Samsung whatsoever. When I buy another printer (which will be soon), it will not be a Samsung and from my experience with their support I won't purchase any other product from Samsung

    Duration of ownership:6 Months

Strengths: Will fail quickly so you can go get a new printer

Weaknesses: Jams constantly, and is very loud

Overall Evaluation: I have had nothing but problems with this printer, and emails to Samsung go without response. It takes about 30 minutes to get a print. I have to hit print, then remove the paper, reinstall the paper tray, turn the printer off, then on again, and hit print again. And agan, and again. Once it decides to actually take up the paper properly and print, it gets out one or two prints and stops. Then the rigamarole starts again. It also makes a very loud clicking sound. I will do more research next time. For now, I get my prints at Copy Max.

    Duration of ownership:9 Months

    Strengths: Small, compact, excellent printouts.

    Weaknesses: None

Overall Evaluation: I love this printer. Nary a problem. Had for 9 months now and still running on original toner cartridges. Selected Samsung because I had their B/W laser and never had a problem. Picked it because it was the smallest and most energy efficient. Reasonably priced toner cartridges available at Cartridge World.

    Duration of ownership:

Strengths: easy setup and super quiet

    Weaknesses: problems with software installation

Overall Evaluation: small and easy hardware setup out of the box, extremely easy. I have 3 pc's connected to the internet using a router and a switch, no file/print sharing installed on all xp pro pc's. Original software installation would not work, I used add printer and pointed to drivers on cd, while designating a http://192.168.0.6 local ip in the port specifications on all pc's and it works on all pc's. Strangely sometimes it doesn't when sending a large color image to print. So for basic homework and such it's fine, hopefully drivers/install will get better with time.

    Duration of ownership:3 Days

Strengths: Smallest color laser available as of 11/06

Weaknesses: text and image edges not as sharp as other laser printers

Overall Evaluation: The CLP-300 is very impressive as a color laser printer. However during all my initial tests, the text and images did not have the razor sharp edges we have come to expect from laser printing. I showed to a friend who works on printers for a living and he says the printer is laying too much toner on the paper which results in the "fuzzy edges." On the plus side, if you want the least expensive color laser that can print checks with MICR toner (magnetically readable at banks & retail stores) this printer can do it if you add a MICR toner cartridge from checksnet website.
