Strengths: Cheap. Cheap. Cheap. Lots of RAM. LightScribe, etc.

Weaknesses:Runs too hot. Uncomfortable to rest my palms on the laptop in order to type because it gets so hot.

Overall Evaluation: I just took my new Compaq Presario C770US out of the box, and it's going back to the store. It actually got so hot after only thirty or so minutes of use that it hurts my palms when I'm typing. And since I'm an author, no can do.

Strengths: more for the money, 2gb RAM!!

    Weaknesses:considering the price, none

Overall Evaluation: This was probably my best buy in quite a while. This laptop comes with a sufficient 2gb RAM and a 160gb hard drive. However, the best part is that these laptops are that they are now affordable; only $400. This laptop does not have a firewire port nor a pc card port nor an infrared port, but the wireless capability makes up for these deficiencies.

    Strengths: Good Specs-- 1.86GHz Intel Pentium Dual-Core Mobile T2390, 2GB DDR2, 160gb, DVD±RW DL, Windows Vista Home Premium, 15.4" LCD.Great Price, Lightweight.

Weaknesses:No Firewire, No built-in webcam or mic, not suitable for gaming or heavy multimedia.

Overall Evaluation: Purchsed this notebook at Staples for $430 after rebate---came with free-after-rebate all-in-one inket machine!! Very good value for the price--espeically for routine computer needs. Battery life is decent & having a 160GB at this price point is convenient. Also, comes with 2GB RAM which is sufficient for most needs. Overall, very happy with purchase.
