    Duration of ownership: 1 Weeks

Strengths: Picture quality (of course), 12 MP, ease-of-use, SDHC card capability, big LCD screen, compact, and relatively light weight.

Weaknesses:None that I know of yet. I don't foresee any either...

Overall Evaluation: I'm a family photographer, taking photos of my kids and family. This was rated #1 Digital SLR in C.R. and it is a great camera. I highly recommend this if you want to go with a digital SLR camera.

Strengths: - better ergonomy than 350D and 450D,- good image quality,- possibility to change ISO settings in viewfinder,- 3-inches LCD,- good autofocus

Weaknesses:- ISO 3200 absence,- Menu key in uncomfortable place.

Overall Evaluation: I've used Canon EOS Xt (350D) earlier. 450D is better younger brother of this camera. I'm contented of my XSi beacause I have good quality of photos for a quite good money. Photography is my biggest passion and in future I want to buy more advanced Canon camera, for example EOS 50D. Effects of my work with Canon (and Panasonic earlier) on: www.rafalgdak.pl

Strengths: Very user friendly user interface, LiveView enable point and shoot like experience for novice photographer. Great picture quality. The IS kits lens work great!

Weaknesses:When the IS is operating the high freq noise is some what annoying. But being say that you can only hear it in a very quite studio enviroment

Overall Evaluation: This is my first SLR. Been using Canon XT of my friend in the past. I decided to get my own, with my first paycheck. There is a lot of pro review out there about this SLR. So I am just going to share my personal feel about this camera, for the rest of detail information you can just google for it. I am total happy with this camera. It is much more advance then the Canon XT, great features, great picture quality and I just enjoy shooting with it. BTW the sensor is very low noise despite at 12M pixel density. The picture get even better when you hook it up with a 50mm prime lens.

Strengths: Wonderful image quality and great to be able to work with RAW format

Weaknesses:The live view is only available in manual settings.

Overall Evaluation: I had a Canon point and shoot that I really loved--I wanted to graduate to a digital SLR and had heard good feedback about the Rebel series. So, far I am satisfied; but need to get more into the manual features to fully use the camera. I was also disappointed that the live view is not available when the camera is set on auto. I am getting used to using the view-finder to compose and focus, it will take some getting used to.

    Duration of ownership:

Strengths: Quick, very minimal lag time, compact for a DSLR, Canon quality, good IS lens

    Weaknesses:none

Overall Evaluation: My wife has been using a Canon Digital Rebel (first model) and I just upgraded her to the XSi. She LOVES it. The difference is amazing: faster response and wake up time, faster shutter and definitely decreased lag time. It is smaller and lighter. Comfortable to use. We have a 18-55 canon lens but I upgraded to the new IS lens and it probably adds a little to the performance (esp lower light situations) but it definitely doesn't slow things down (which I thought might be a concern). Bottom line - EXCELLENT CAMERA even for a semi-pro photographer!
