HTC is on a hot streak. The company behind such smart phones as the T-Mobile Dash and the Sprint Mogul has now released a PDA phone under its own brand called the HTC Touch. The handset is aptly named for its 2.8-inch touch screen and its touch-based user interface. Though I like the device's general concept, a few kinks prevent the Touch from being a great phone.

Duration of ownership:
Strengths: Fast Processor Speed, Increased Memory, TouchFLO, WM6, built-in GPS.
Weaknesses:Short battery life.
Overall Evaluation: Love this phone--fast processor, great ROM/RAM, very sleek & lightweight. However, like other HTC devices, battery life is not so great especially if connected to internet or running bluetooth. All-in-all, a decent device which delivers what it promises to be.

Duration of ownership:
Strengths: Speed, Memory, TouchFLO, WM6, Customization options.
Weaknesses:Battery life when using push email.
Overall Evaluation: As an upgrade from the Palm Treo 700wx I must say this phone is quite an improvement for me. I was a bit sceptical at first as to how the touch screen and HTC's TouchFLO overlay would integrate with WM6. After about 6 months of use I must admit I an very pleased with this phone. It offers a sleek professional styling, and offers unlimited options as far as third party software goes too. The other really nice feature is the speed the phone can generate with Sprints EDGE network and soon to be released Rev A and GPS functionality for the Touch.

Duration of ownership:
Strengths: compact, good-looking, can be charged by usb on laptop
Weaknesses:hard to read on the screen under strong sunlight, short battery life when envo is turned on
Overall Evaluation: Over all, I am very happy with this purchase. I got it with sprint sero plan, which gives you free data plan and make this cellphone very handy everywhere, the touchscreen is easy to use, and it is a not problem without real keyboard. The screen is big, and make watching video and TV a pleasure. The black body is cool. IMP, I don't think that it is inferior to iphone from any respective. -satisfied customer

Duration of ownership: 2 Months
Strengths: compact, long battery life
Weaknesses:processor speed
Overall Evaluation: Very compact and comfortable cell phone with long battery life and good working EDGE. PDA functions are good, but processor speed is not enough to see movie in VGA resolution (QVGA only)and some applications opening is not so fast. Easy upgradable system. Supports navigation with Bluetooth GPS and Stereo Bluetooth headphones. Lot of useful programs. Touch screen becomes very comfortable just next day of use. My friends took this communicator and are very satisfied with it!

Duration of ownership:
Strengths: large screen, light weight, WM6
Weaknesses:poor input, too expensive
Overall Evaluation: The HTC Touch is a good all-around phone with touch screen capability that is above average for its class. But, the high price and poor input method are difficult to come by. The only advantage this phone has over the iPhone is that it runs WM6 and is unlocked. Otherwise, the touch interface is no match to the iPhone that has multi-touch user interface with a large keyboard.
