Duration of ownership: 3 Months
Strengths: Very few.
Weaknesses: Any idiot that uses the Resident Shield has got to have a screw loose.
Overall Evaluation: Customer support is non existant. When asking a simple question as to why I cannot get into there web-site because of some problem with the Resident Shield, it states that I can not access this as a result of having a problem. When I contact Support there answere is to check the Web-site for FAQ. Is there a more rediculous situation than this. And they wonder why I am eliminating all use of any of their products from my computer. It would be somewhat re-assuring if they even offered some reason or fix that would allow any access.

Strengths: keeps my several computers virus free for someyears now requires minimal attention
Weaknesses: on 2008 get some errors ,freezes and crashes occassionally,didnt with older versions
Overall Evaluation: hard to beaat for free if they get the bugs out of 2008,,use windows xphome sp3

Duration of ownership: 1 Weeks
Strengths: Found a whole bunch of tracker cookies.
Weaknesses: If you scan for viruses while running a program, the program will freeze or run very slowly.
Overall Evaluation: AVG is pretty good..it found 92 tracker cookies after 1 day on the internet.

Strengths: Not sure it has any.
Weaknesses: It uses up so much resources that it slows down my computer.
Overall Evaluation: I tried the one month free trial of the full version of AVG 8. The spam filter is a disaster. The firewall didn't work, gave error mesages. E-mailed AVG for tech support, but it took them so long to respond, that my trial was over before I could implement any of the suggested fixes. They did not offer to extend the trial. I'm going to try the PCTOOLS suite that received such rave reviews in PC World recently.

Overall Evaluation: Don't download AVG.

Strengths: well i dont no if it has any strengths althogh it says it does but by using it im highly dissapointed
Weaknesses: well grisoft avg says it is a good virus scanner and remover and it is free i have no beef whith avg or grisoft it is light on the system says it removes viruse but dosent just quarintenes them and if it cant remove it well oh well it stays
Overall Evaluation: my evaluation whith it is avg virus scanner its free for windows xp i dont no about vista you cant perfome a wekkly or monthly scan it scann on its on it has a low detction rate around the60s n dosent really protect you although its free some pages and forums i read ssay its not free any more overall avg to me is not good use it at you own risk really it does not remove all the viruses and dosent have a rootkit in it just plan virus scanner as i quote i dont use it at all any more some say its good but thats them
