Fast paced VoIP market necessitates management tools

The growing acceptance of VoIP drives this fast-moving market. All the suppliers are striving to increase the range of protocols their tools support, to redesign their user interfaces to improve navigability and better highlight areas that need attention, and pack in advanced features that enable users to quickly pinpoint and drill down to investigate problem areas.

While there are a number of VoIP analysis and management tools from independent companies, most buyers start off with the products that come with their IP-telephony systems and then round out that tool set by adding wares that offer more quality-monitoring features. Seeing that, the VoIP system suppliers have been adding more functionality to their tool boxes, mostly by developing new capabilities in-house but sometimes by acquiring smaller niche players or seeking partners.
